Santa Cruz Cypress

An endangered species endemic to the coastal Santa Cruz Mountains of central California. Only five populations totaling a few thousand individuals remain.

Part of the American Society of Botanical Artists exhibit, Losing Paradise? Endangered Plants Here and Around the World, shown in 2009 and 2010 at the Missouri Botanical Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, New York Botanical Garden, and Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History, and in 2011 at Kew Gardens, London.

The original is in a private collection.
